Our Story

Masters Architecture PLLC was initially established in 1997 when Mr. Masters began working for himself from his home that he designed and built on Beaucatcher Mountain, in his hometown of Asheville. Mark later founded Masters Gentry Architects, PA (MGA) and operated the practice for over 20 years in an office on Chestnut St. In 2018, Mark reverted back to a sole practitioner and continues to provide full architectural services for a variety of project types including medical, institutional, religious and commercial facilities as well as single and multifamily residential design.

With over 30 years of experience, Mr. Masters has completed a vast array of medical/healthcare projects ranging from imaging and surgery centers to clinics and medical office buildings. He has also had the opportunity to design several State projects including detention facilities, rehabilitation centers, as well as recreational and cultural facilities.

Prior to forming his own firm, Mr. Masters’ background included educational, healthcare and religious design while working at Bowers, Ellis & Watson Architects in the 1990’s, and Padgett & Freeman Architects in the 1980’s. Both of which are respected Asheville firms.

Our downtown office is located in the Neo-Gothic Jackson Building, and we are working on a variety of medical, public service and commercial projects as well as single and multifamily homes - including new construction, along with additions and renovations.
