ENKA-CANDLER FIRE & RESCUE SUBSTATION #10
This $3.5 million fire and rescue sub-station was completed in 2021 for Enka Candler Fire & Rescue.
The building consists of a training room, offices, truck bays for 4 apparatus, bathrooms, day room, PPE storage & laundry, sleeping quarters, kitchen, storage and public restrooms. The site for this project was particularly challenging given that construction was on a very constrained & angled site belonging to Buncombe County Schools. Medlock Engineering led by Tim Dempsey designed the structure of the building. The project was completed under the owners budget, however was delayed three months due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The project was completed with 0.3% change orders.
